Zilveren Kruis, one of the largest health insurance providers in the Netherlands, needed a faster way to respond to regulatory changes, reduce shadow IT, and automate insurance processes without overloading its small development team. Since 2009, it has used Mendix low-code to build portals and workflows that support customers with premium payments and other insurance-related needs.

Mendix helped Zilveren Kruis launch more than 25 applications, replace Excel-based manual administration, and modernize key systems while staying compliant and integrated with the wider Achmea ecosystem. The result was a more future-proof low-code practice, faster development, improved customer experience, and greater efficiency—at one point growing from a four-person team to more than a dozen creators.
