HST’s Integrated Portal Supports One-Stop-Shopping and Cross-Selling

HST Groep is a Netherlands-based transport and logistics provider (270 employees, €40M turnover) offering sea, air, road and warehousing services. Facing a strategic shift to one-stop-shopping and cross-selling across business units, HST needed a web-based portal to replace its non-web HST Online (which required manual installs on customer PCs) and to support two salespeople serving 500–600 clients while integrating with multiple back-office systems.

Working with CAPE Groep, HST built a web portal on the Mendix platform (Business Modeler, Server and Web client) with an ESB linking Navision and three transport-management systems. The portal adds self-service ordering, stock checking, real-time tracking, a business-rules engine for pricing and carrier selection, and an intelligent CO2-aware routing feature—reducing customer- and company-support costs, lowering development and maintenance effort, improving operational quality, and positioning HST to double turnover through more effective cross-selling.
