Guido Construction Creates a Feature-Rich Project Management App

Guido Construction Company, a $60M commercial contractor founded in 1927 with 125 employees, faced growing workflow and documentation challenges as it managed 10–20 concurrent projects. Off‑the‑shelf software proved expensive and ill‑fitting, and their Access‑based system was sluggish—especially once teams began using iPads in the field—leaving the company with limited visibility and inconsistent processes for RFIs, change orders, submittals and punch lists.

Working with a consultant on the Mendix platform, Guido launched a custom project‑management app in just eight weeks that consolidated multiple back‑office systems, automated approvals and document flows, and enabled field teams to capture punch‑list items with iPad photos. More than 30 project managers now use the app, delivering stronger cost control, faster close‑outs, instant access to change orders and a dashboard of key metrics; Guido plans Timberline integration and will offer the app in the Mendix App Store.
