Future-Proofing Critical Field Service Operations with Mammoet

Mammoet, a global heavy‑lifting and transport specialist in SHV Holdings, relied on the Mammoet Task Application (MTA) to coordinate crane operators and automate invoicing via SAP. The original Java app had reached end‑of‑life: key integrations (MicroVPN, Android versions) were incompatible, the app frequently required restarts or forced operators back to paper, and the original developer knowledge was lost—creating a critical operational risk.

Mammoet rebuilt MTA as a native mobile app using low‑code platform Mendix to preserve the existing user experience while modernizing the architecture. Launched in February 2021, the new MTA integrates with SAP and Microsoft Intune, removed legacy third‑party dependencies (saving €100K+), supports 700 users and 5,000 tasks per month, and delivered better usability, transparency, and maintainability for operators, planners, and IT.
