Rolls Royce, the power system provider, needed to modernize its software development ecosystem to support complex manufacturing, improve digital continuity, and replace legacy systems and Excel-based shadow IT. To do this, Rolls Royce adopted the Mendix platform as part of its low-code strategy to help deliver modern, connected, and flexible tools across engineering, manufacturing, and service operations.

Mendix is being used to support governed low-code development for high-value use cases such as managing sensitive data sets and automating jet engine system design. While still early in its journey, Rolls Royce expects Mendix to improve product development speed, productivity, and collaboration with both employees and suppliers, while enabling safer citizen development and more compliant software delivery.
