Collin Crowdfund, founded by two former bankers, built a Dutch crowdfunding platform to reconnect local investors with entrepreneurs while meeting strict banking regulations and earning investor trust. They built a custom, low-code platform on Mendix in seven months that combines automated credit checks (including Dun & Bradstreet), a five-step human-plus-tech approval workflow, integrated investor accounts, and role-based security on Mendix Cloud. The results: sustained 40% annual growth since 2014, €235.4M disbursed, 99.5% of posted loans fully funded, high investor engagement, and plans to white-label the platform.
