Schwarz IT, the technology organization supporting the Schwarz Group’s 575,000 employees, was struggling with overloaded development backlogs, shadow IT, and the need to standardize application delivery across 32 countries. To address this, Schwarz IT turned to Mendix and its low-code development platform to help decentralize software development while keeping it governed, secure, and scalable.

Using Mendix, Schwarz IT built a low-code Center of Excellence, reusable templates, and a community of nearly 200 platform users. Mendix helped the company deliver more than 120 applications, streamline backoffice and retail processes, and scale from a small pilot team to over 200 users, with app deployment to the STACKIT cloud taking as little as 15 to 20 minutes.
