DSM-firmenich, a global nutrition, health, and beauty company with over 30,000 employees across nearly 60 countries, faced a fragmented IT landscape caused by mergers, shadow IT, and inconsistent systems. To improve standardization and control while supporting digital transformation, the company adopted Mendix low-code in 2017 and began extending core systems like SAP and modernizing custom solutions.

Mendix helped DSM-firmenich build a portfolio of 150 applications on AWS, with about half integrating with SAP for use cases like customer portals, warehouse execution, maintenance, and master data workflows. The result was reduced manual work, more automation, faster delivery, and easier maintenance, with streamlined app deployment through CI/CD and a reusable internal marketplace that improved efficiency, responsiveness, quality, and transparency across the business.
