Airmoniq - Customer Case Study

Airmoniq, a company based in Budapest, Hungary, faced the challenge of making a sophisticated IoT-based performance measurement system accessible to mid-sized professional sailing teams, a capability that had previously only been affordable for elite teams. Their onboard device collects vast amounts of sensor data to provide sailors with actionable insights, but they needed a reliable and secure way to deliver over-the-air updates to the embedded software on these devices, even with intermittent connectivity.

Using Mender, Airmoniq implemented a solution for secure system and component updates. Mender reliably delivers code-signed updates to the Linux-based IoT devices whenever the boats regain GSM coverage, ensuring the fleet remains current. This has allowed the company to scale confidently, with twenty Hungarian sailing teams now using the product, including the first and second place winners of Hungary's premier sailing competition.
