Case Study: LetMobile achieves continuous open-source management and streamlined acquisition due diligence with Mend (WhiteSource)

A Mend Case Study

Preview of the LetMobile Case Study

LetMobile Uses WhiteSource to Continuously Manage Open Source Components

LetMobile, a developer of secure corporate collaboration and Secure Mobile Email for personal devices, relied on manual Word-based tracking of open source Java and Objective C components as it grew. That manual process became time-consuming, produced an incomplete inventory, raised security-vulnerability concerns and threatened OEM transactions and an upcoming acquisition where a clear open source bill of materials was required.

LetMobile implemented WhiteSource in two phases — a quick drag-and-drop scan that produced a full inventory and allowed removal or replacement of noncompliant components, followed by an Ant plugin that enforces license policies and sends alerts on newly added components and reported vulnerabilities. The result was continuous tracking, automated vulnerability and policy alerts, reduced legal risk, and an out-of-the-box report that satisfied the acquirer’s due diligence.
