Blueshift ONE is a cloud-based integrated business-planning platform that unifies commercial planning, sales forecasting, budgeting and supply chain planning. As usage and data volumes grew, their single-node Microsoft SQL Server backend struggled to deliver responsive, reliable reports—customers faced slow queries, inefficient per-customer aggregations and operational limits from the inability to shard data.

Blueshift evaluated multiple databases and selected MemSQL for its distributed sharding, ANSI SQL support and strong benchmarks. Tests showed MemSQL was ~100x faster than their SQL Server setup and sustained performance even with 100x larger data volumes; in production the platform now runs analytics on nearly 2 billion records with 60 measures in under 2 seconds, turning analytics into a competitive advantage.
