The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) faced challenges in its PrEP program for HIV prevention, including inconsistent appointment reminders, low patient engagement with frequent cancellations, and a high volume of non-clinical patient questions. They partnered with Memora Health to digitize and improve the patient care experience, aiming to alleviate these burdens on their clinical team.
Memora Health implemented a text-based solution that used natural language processing (NLP) to answer patient questions and triage them appropriately. This solution successfully enrolled over 600 patients, leading to a dramatic reduction in cancellations and no-shows attributed entirely to Memora by the care team. The program also achieved high patient satisfaction, with 94% of patients wanting to continue using the texting service.
