Skip Finds Show-Stopper Bug at Release With Memfault

Skip Scooters, a shared electric scooter operator in San Francisco, built its firmware in-house but struggled to catch bugs with manual testing and had limited visibility into fleet health once devices were in the field. To improve safety and ship on time, Skip turned to Memfault for firmware crash reporting and remote debugging, including its coredump feature.

Memfault helped Skip monitor devices in separate cohorts, catch regressions during developer testing, and quickly diagnose a last-minute, intermittent ship-stopping issue. As a result, Skip found a major showstopper bug at launch, released safely and on schedule, and reported a very low overall crash rate with fewer customer-facing issues.
