The Sunshine Tour is Africa’s premier membership organisation for touring professional golfers and one of the six leading international men’s golf tours, staging 52 events across Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands under its Sunshine Tour, Sunshine Ladies and Big Easy Tour brands. With tournaments co-sanctioned by major international tours, the Tour needed a way to monitor social and other media in real time during events to protect brand reputation and deliver clear ROI and exposure metrics to sponsors.
Using Meltwater’s media monitoring platform, the Tour gained live social monitoring via dashboards and an app plus detailed reports that include Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) metrics. Sponsors responded positively: the Tour can now prove value, analyse which social strategies work, build relationships with top journalists and publications, and use those insights to strengthen sponsor relationships and secure future sponsorships.
