A Meltwater Case Study
James Madison University wanted to give students in its Social Media Marketing course a more practical, data-driven way to learn strategic decision-making, especially around influencer marketing. To do that, Dr. Kelly Naletelich brought in Meltwater Influencer Marketing so students could work with industry tools that reflected real market trends and prepared them for client-facing work after graduation.
Meltwater helped James Madison University students audit social media accounts, research competitors, and identify and vet influencers using insights like True Reach, audience demographics, and authenticity. The result was over 20 strategic social media marketing plans supporting real brands, and more than 100 students gained hands-on experience creating research-backed influencer marketing campaigns with Meltwater.
