Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), a global charity founded in 1899, needed to raise awareness of its wide-ranging research but faced two key challenges: researchers were often reluctant to hand over complex work for wider promotion, and the school’s previous media monitoring missed many international mentions. LSTM adopted Meltwater’s media intelligence platform—using its Influencer Contact Database to find journalists by past coverage and send highly targeted pitches, and its global monitoring, heat maps and dashboards to track reach and surface opportunities.
