The Coca-Cola Company’s Africa Operating Unit (AOU) manages more than 20 brands across 54 countries and works with 22 bottling partners and 125+ plants. Communications Manager Refiloe Serai needed a way to track conversations and media coverage across Africa—particularly to measure pickup of a global campaign—and to keep employees informed so they could act as brand ambassadors.
Using Meltwater’s Daily Curated Executive Digests and daily alerts, the team tracked which outlets picked up the press conference and press release, monitored how fast the story spread, and surfaced positive coverage to share internally. The insights improved reputation management, helped structure internal and external communications, and enabled quick decisions about whether additional media outreach was needed.
