A Meltwater Case Study

Preview of the American Indian College Fund Case Study

American Indian College Fund - Customer Case Study

The American Indian College Fund is a nonprofit that has helped more than 131,000 Native students pursue higher education since 1989, providing $193 million in scholarships. With only about 1% of college students identifying as American Indian, the College Fund struggled to get media attention; their previous media intelligence provider delivered inconsistent service, a limited contacts database, and incomplete search results.

Using Meltwater’s all‑in‑one platform and a consistent service rep, the College Fund now gets real‑time alerts, identifies and pitches the right journalists, and produces a newsletter to broaden reach. The tools helped uncover off‑target ad placements, improve advocacy outreach, and earn major placements (including The Atlantic and The Chronicle of Higher Education), boosting proactive coverage and engagement.
