TAO Wellness partnered with Melon to develop the Android app for its TAO WellShell isometric wellness device. The startup needed an outsourcing partner that could help shape the user experience and interface, while also delivering software that could keep up with an evolving product, strict deadlines, and offline functionality via Bluetooth connectivity.
Melon built the app end to end, including UX/UI design, Android development, low-level documentation, and technical testing. The solution tracked physical activity and nutrition, analyzed calorie intake, provided workout guidance, and featured 3D exercise graphics that could be rotated and zoomed; by CES 2014, TAO WellShell became a Best of CES finalist and gained coverage from major tech media, while the app was ready for launch alongside the device.
