Bookatable, Europe’s largest online restaurant reservation service, turned to Melon to improve its website and keep pace with rapid growth. The challenge was to boost performance while continuing to add new features quickly, all under tight deadlines and without any downtime. Melon also later helped Bookatable launch mobile apps using the PhoneGap cross-platform framework.

Melon split the team to work on both the website overhaul and ongoing feature development, using agile and then kanban with continuous QA to support frequent releases. Melon delivered a new website and performance improvements in four months, later ported features to the new platform without downtime, and built mobile apps for iOS and Android. The results included more than three-digit percentage growth in visits and bookings, plus industry recognition such as a TechCrunch Europe nomination and a Bulgarian Web Awards first prize.
