AES Corporation, a global power company operating across 18 countries, needed a modern way to manage vast volumes of technical documentation for its Kilroot and Ballylumford plants in Northern Ireland. Melon was engaged to replace legacy Lotus Domino and an underused web document system with a searchable SharePoint 2013-based document management solution, including a robust multi-level change management workflow.

Melon implemented an indexed document management system with three-level workflow, email notifications, and Microsoft Office integration so documents could be edited both online and in Word. The solution digitized and organized tens of thousands of PDFs and related records, improved change control for policies and procedures, and created a platform now planned for global rollout across AES’s sites, with Melon continuing to provide ongoing technical support.
