Canadian Museum of History unveils a first-of-its-kind interactive installation with Meld Media

The Canadian Museum of History sought to enhance its Medieval Europe exhibit with a pioneering interactive installation, a first for the institution. They partnered with Meld Media to create an engaging, user-centric digital sculpture that would immerse visitors in the medieval world and illuminate the stories of historical figures in a surprising way.

Meld Media designed and developed "The Well," an immersive interactive installation featuring a realistic, reactive water interface built with a custom Unity shader. This solution successfully transformed the user experience, creating a captivating centerpiece for the exhibit. The project set a new precedent for interactivity at the museum and resulted in overwhelmingly positive feedback from both the client and visitors.
