News Corp Australia scales to 90+ VXC services with Megaport

News Corp Australia, one of the country's largest media organizations, required resilient and flexible connectivity for a rapid cloud migration to a multi-VPC AWS architecture. Their initial setup lacked redundancy and they found traditional Network Service Providers required significant capital investment for inflexible bandwidth models. They turned to vendor Megaport and its Software Defined Network (SDN) to address this challenge.

Megaport provisioned connectivity that allowed News Corp to consume AWS services on-demand with pay-as-you-need billing. The solution enabled them to stand up Virtual Cross Connects to over 40 VPCs over a single Direct Connect, addressing short-notice requirements for third-party providers like MongoDB Atlas. The results included significant time savings as services were immediately available, avoidance of unnecessary capital expenditure, and the ability to easily scale to over 90 VXC services with no impact to their operations team.
