1NCE enables 3.44 billion PDP activations per month with Megaport

1NCE, a global IoT connectivity and software provider, faced challenges scaling its network due to AWS Direct Connect BGP route limitations and a lack of traffic control and automation. As their device traffic grew, these constraints threatened performance and efficient global expansion. To overcome this, 1NCE partnered with vendor Megaport and utilized their Megaport Virtual Edge (MVE) service.

The solution involved deploying virtual FortiGate appliances via Megaport Virtual Edge to act as a firewall and router, offloading complex BGP routes and announcing only a default route into AWS. Using the Megaport Terraform provider for automation, they created a repeatable architecture deployed across multiple regions. This provided 1NCE with streamlined routing, granular traffic control, and scalable automation, successfully supporting 3.44 billion PDP activations per month and drastically reducing deployment times for new customers.
