Case Study: ZF Friedrichshafen achieves IT transparency and standardization with MEGA International's HOPEX platform

A MEGA International Case Study

Preview of the ZF Friedrichshafen Case Study

ZF has created transparency and predictability for its global application and technology portfolio

ZF Friedrichshafen AG, a global automotive supplier with about 137,000 employees and roughly 1,500 software products across 230 locations, faced limited visibility into its application landscape. The IT Architecture Management team needed to track which applications supported which processes and locations, reduce redundancy, improve compliance and standardize the IT estate to better plan software investments and support business transformation.

ZF implemented MEGA’s HOPEX platform—HOPEX IT Portfolio Management and HOPEX IT Architecture—backed by MEGA services to inventory and model applications, data flows and target architectures. The solution delivered higher transparency and data quality, role‑based reports for architects and managers, improved procurement decisions and stronger IT standardization, with the inventory published company‑wide and a roadmap for integrating newly acquired systems.
