EUROCONTROL and the SESAR Joint Undertaking—responsible for developing a pan‑European air traffic management (ATM) system to handle projected growth to 16.9 million flights/year by 2030—faced the challenge of defining and mapping detailed system requirements, ensuring consistency across hundreds of subsystems, and guaranteeing that all components could interoperate without conflict. They needed a central, accessible repository and a collaborative way to manage complex architecture models across a large, multidisciplinary team.

MEGA implemented HOPEX NAF/HOPEX Platform and professional services to deliver a centralized architecture repository, role‑based access controls, an intranet front end, and hands‑on MBSE support. The solution produced a full shared model repository, faster problem detection and resolution, simplified views for non‑experts, and reduced maintenance effort; next steps include training ~100 contributors and using the repository for deeper impact analyses and deployment planning.
