A team of heart surgeons at the Erasmus Medical Center faced a challenge due to Covid-19 physical distancing restrictions, which hindered collaborative healthcare activities like team meetings and diagnostics. They sought a new solution to overcome these barriers to remote collaboration.

The vendor, MeetinVR, provided a virtual reality platform for the team to simulate remote meetings. The results showed that 90% of physicians found MeetinVR’s ease-of-use, usefulness, and effectiveness to be better than video conferencing, with 20% even rating the experience as better than a real-life physical meeting. This opens the door for future applications like remote surgery.
