Utilizing Clinical Trials to Improve Population Health, Expand Patient Volume and Practice Revenue

PrimeCare, a family and occupational medicine practice with clinics in Dothan, Daleville and Headland, AL, wanted to grow patient volume and improve clinical diagnoses and preventive care without adding overhead. Already using an integrated EHR and practice management system, PrimeCare sought new ways to engage patients and expand services, and partnered with vendor Medusind to pursue clinical-trial integration as a growth and care-improvement strategy.

Medusind implemented a clinical-trials solution integrated with PrimeCare’s workflows to automatically identify eligible patients, support remote monitoring and manage study sponsor communication with minimal administrative burden. The program enabled six completed trials to date, generated practice revenue approaching $50,000, increased patient referrals and volume, and produced measurable care benefits (for example, earlier detection of a coronary blockage and improvements in urinary incontinence), enhancing diagnostics and overall patient care.
