ICONIX Waterworks eliminates paper-based system with Medius AP Automation

ICONIX Waterworks, a leading distributor of water and wastewater products with 40 branches and 580 employees, struggled with a manual, paper‑based AP process—receiving hundreds of pieces of mail daily, routing invoices by courier, relying on overtime and temporary staff, and chasing approvals by email. To modernize AP, ICONIX selected Medius and its Medius AP Automation solution for its Microsoft Gold Partner integration, combined document/AP management, cost model, and rapid implementation timeline.

Medius AP Automation used AI/ML/OCR to capture, digitize and route invoices into digital workflows; the project went live on schedule with strong post‑go‑live support. As a result, ICONIX now processes roughly 140,000 invoices per year (over 10,000/month), eliminated temporary staff and much overtime, cut printing/postage/storage/courier expenses, reduced daily mail from hundreds to about 10 items, improved auditability and cash‑flow visibility, and delivered higher employee satisfaction (one employee estimated ~50% savings).
