How Intersafe went from labor-intensive to touchless invoice processing

Intersafe, a market leader in occupational health and safety products with a shared services center in Dordrecht that processes around 50,000 supplier invoices annually, faced a fully manual, paper‑heavy invoice workflow that lacked visibility and capacity—especially after joining the Lyreco group and expecting a surge in invoices. To modernize AP, Intersafe chose Medius and its Medius AP Automation solution to move from labor‑intensive processing to a touchless, efficient process.

Medius implemented a phased rollout of Medius AP Automation (develop, test, train), going live first in the Netherlands and then France, largely remotely. Within six months touchless invoice processing rose from about 40% to over 55%, paper piles fell significantly, and finance staff reclaimed time for more value‑adding work and supplier issue resolution. Medius’ solution also provided better insight into problem suppliers, and Intersafe is now targeting at least 70% touchless processing.
