Coventry Building Society Cashes in on the Benefits Medius Brings

The Coventry Building Society, the UK’s third-largest building society managing over $49bn for 1.8 million members, needed to automate and streamline procurement to gain organisation-wide spend visibility and improve supplier management. After evaluating 17 eProcurement solutions, The Coventry Building Society selected Medius’ cloud-based Medius Spend Management to replace manual ordering and invoicing, provide secure integration with its Oracle systems, and enable sourcing from approved suppliers via an online platform.

Medius rolled out Medius Spend Management to about 400 users across six head‑office locations, centralising all purchasing (IT, property, marketing, HR) into an e‑commerce catalogue environment and automating the full procure‑to‑pay cycle with three‑way matching. The Coventry Building Society has eradicated manual ordering and invoicing, achieved clearer spend visibility and faster sourcing, now manages roughly 1,200 suppliers (with thousands registered to trade electronically) and stores over 1,500 contracts in the system—reducing errors and accounts overheads while meeting its stringent security requirements.
