CalvertHealth Monitors Coronavirus Cases Using MEDITECH’s BCA Solution

CalvertHealth, a Maryland hospital serving about 420 patients daily, needed to rapidly comply with state COVID-19 reporting requirements after the Maryland Department of Health mandated daily reporting for patients with COVID-19 symptoms. To meet the tight turnaround, the health system turned to MEDITECH’s Business and Clinical Analytics (BCA) solution and support from a business application specialist.

Using MEDITECH’s BCA platform and previously built datasets, CalvertHealth quickly created a COVID-19 monitoring dashboard and then a second hospital occupancy dashboard for reporting bed availability and overall capacity. The first dashboard enabled daily export of patient data to the state, while the second was built in about an hour and captured nearly all required fields; together, these tools helped CalvertHealth meet next-day reporting deadlines and improve communication with state officials and internal teams.
