Anderson Regional Health System, a Mississippi-based health system serving many Medicare/Medicaid patients, was struggling with a cumbersome revenue cycle: A/R days were over 95, credit balances topped $7 million, and manual, paper-heavy processes were slowing reimbursement and making accountability difficult. Working with MEDITECH and its Revenue Cycle solution, the organization needed better workflow, clearer KPI visibility, and a way to move from reactive problem-solving to proactive financial management.

MEDITECH helped Anderson migrate from the MAGIC platform to MEDITECH 6.1 and use the Financial Status Desktop, worklists, and integrated clinical/financial charging to modernize operations. The results were substantial: A/R days fell from 95 to 47, lost revenue dropped by 90%, credit balances declined from more than 7,000 accounts to 725, and the hospital saw a $14 million improvement in financial health from FY2015 to FY2016.
