What If Outsourcing Your Revenue Cycle Led To Improved Performance And Peace Of Mind

Western Regional Medical Health, a 188-bed regional referral center serving the western half of its state and parts of three others, was facing major disruption after a difficult EHR and patient accounting system conversion to Cerner. The organization had cash pressure, legacy wind-down demands, workflow redesign needs, and uncertainty tied to restructuring, which made revenue cycle performance and employee morale difficult to maintain. To address these issues, the CFO brought in MediRevv to assess and then outsource end-to-end revenue cycle operations.

MediRevv supported the transition by consolidating billing operations, transitioning 65 revenue cycle employees, focusing resources on legacy A/R wind-down, adding coding expertise, and providing interim leadership to resolve Cerner setup and workflow issues. The result was improved operational and financial performance during a challenging conversion, plus a 38.9-point jump in employee engagement from 59.6% to 88.5% in six months, exceeding MediRevv’s goal. The case study also notes that MediRevv’s focus helped minimize cash collection disruption compared with typical system conversions.
