UnityPoint Health, one of the nation’s largest integrated health systems, needed help keeping coding accurate and compliant as its use of EMR templates expanded and its physician network continued to grow. To support internal audits for compliance and education, UnityPoint Health partnered with MediRevv, using its coding audit services across Eastern and Southeast Iowa.

MediRevv audited 644 charts across 4 regions and 9 specialties, reviewing E/M services, procedures, modifiers, and diagnoses for coding accuracy, documentation support, and correct code linkage. The audits provided individual provider feedback and organization-wide summaries, helped improve first-pass clean claims and coding education, and led to additional audits across more UnityPoint locations and pre-merger evaluations for potential acquisitions.
