How the Jane Goodall Institute Extends the Value of DAM from Marketing to Scientific Research

The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI), a global conservation organization preserving Dr. Jane Goodall’s 60-year research and advocacy legacy, needed a way to consolidate and share vast multimedia archives with global chapters and stakeholders. Before MediaValet, assets were scattered across drives and cloud services, creating duplicates, restricted access, manual processes, and difficulty retrieving field imagery — all while JGI pursued Microsoft-based digital transformation and broader, democratic access to its archive.

JGI implemented MediaValet’s cloud DAM with unlimited users, user groups and training, plus Microsoft integration and Branded Portals for controlled sharing. MediaValet’s AI transcribes 60 years (~17 TB) of handwritten notes into searchable metadata and supports facial-recognition and behavior detection across thousands of hours (~36 TB) of footage, enabling direct field uploads, faster research discovery, streamlined marketing distribution, and a centralized, accessible digital home for JGI’s archives.
