Case Study: Motorola Mobility achieves enterprise-scale internal webcasting and $1M+ annual cost savings with MediaPlatform

A MediaPlatform Case Study

Preview of the Motorola Mobility Case Study

Motorola Mobility fosters employee connectivity and strengthens the corporate culture with video webcasting

Motorola Mobility, a 16,300-employee telecommunications company, relied heavily on webcasts for internal communications but faced scaling limits with an aging, homegrown Windows Media system that couldn’t support multiple simultaneous streams, was not cross‑platform, and ran on a non‑multicast network. To address these challenges, Motorola selected MediaPlatform’s cloud-based webcasting software integrated with Adobe Media Enterprise Server to replace the legacy solution.

MediaPlatform implemented a hybrid solution—MediaPlatform hosted in AWS combined with on‑premise Adobe Media Enterprise Server—using RTMFP peer‑assisted “application‑level multicasting” to stream inside the firewall. The MediaPlatform deployment enabled multiple simultaneous, interactive webcasts to reach virtually all 16,300 employees without costly network upgrades, improved production quality and engagement, allowed webcasts from all four major studios, and saved Motorola Mobility more than $1 million annually versus conference-bridge alternatives.
