A MedHub Case Study
Cleveland Clinic, one of the largest teaching hospitals in North America, needed a more flexible and robust way to manage its highly complex graduate medical education (GME) operations. After using an internally developed system and several other tools for contracting, trainee appointments, and program management, the institution sought a commercially available residency management system that could support its many specialized requirements. MedHub was selected as the vendor, with its residency management system (RMS) forming the core of the solution.
MedHub delivered a highly customized implementation, developing more than 60 institution-specific enhancements and integrating workflows across 115 residency and fellowship programs. The rollout was completed in less than six months, with all programs deployed and trained, and legacy resident records converted back to 1931. As a result, Cleveland Clinic gained better workflow structure, improved data visibility and quality, and stronger oversight for residents, faculty, and administrators, while MedHub became the central system for managing the clinic’s former homegrown processes.
