Case Study: Grant Memorial Hospital reduces scheduling errors and call volume with MEDHOST Community Bridge

A MEDHOST Case Study

Helping a Rural Community Hospital Meet the Changing Face of Patient Care

Grant Memorial Hospital, a 25‑bed critical access facility serving about 21,700 people across five counties, was struggling with a fragmented scheduling process that relied on faxes and phone orders. High call volumes, only two schedulers, and multiple touchpoints led to missing paperwork, scheduling errors and patient rescheduling. MEDHOST’s Community Bridge electronic scheduling platform was chosen to address these challenges.

MEDHOST implemented Community Bridge (initially as a beta) to give clinics real‑time access to openings, automate confirmations and pre‑registration, and provide schedulers with clear visibility and notifications. The result was fewer calls and missed calls, smoother workflows, and measurable gains — pre‑registration rose from 96% to 98% monthly — while operations improved, facility costs were reduced, and staff had more time for patient‑centered care.
