Piedmont Community Health Plan Automates Authorizations to Improve Efficiency

Piedmont Community Health Plan, a regional health plan in central Virginia, needed to replace an inefficient, home-grown authorization process that required incomplete submissions, manual data entry into multiple systems, and frequent follow-up phone calls. Working during the early days of the pandemic and a rapid shift to remote work, the team sought a better way to manage prior authorizations and improve communication with providers.
