Brand New Day, a Westminster, California-based Medicare Advantage plan serving about 50,000 members across 12 counties, needed a better way to manage clinical integration and population health. Like many health plans, it struggled to get providers to use online tools instead of calls and faxes, engage non-contracted providers, and improve HEDIS, Stars, and care-gap performance. To address these challenges, Brand New Day worked with Medecision and its Aerial™ digital platform.
Medecision’s Aerial™ helped Brand New Day automate authorizations, share real-time patient data through a provider portal, and support provider training and care-gap workflows. The plan now auto-approves nearly 25% of all authorizations, improves audit performance through automation, and better supports HCC, HEDIS, and Stars measures. The impact was significant: Brand New Day also reported a five-fold increase in providers between 2013 and 2019, alongside better satisfaction and care coordination outcomes.
