A MedeAnalytics Case Study
West Tennessee Healthcare faced rising revenue-cycle pressure—an outsized 3:1 bad debt-to-charity ratio, a high percentage of accounts aged over 120 days, and delays of more than 30 days before denial and appeal processes began. To tackle these issues, West Tennessee Healthcare partnered with MedeAnalytics and deployed MedeAnalytics Revenue Cycle Solutions, integrating Patient Access and Revenue Integrity modules.
MedeAnalytics implemented centralized denial workflow and triage, smart work lists, self-pay analytics (including a presumptive charity program) and self-service data analytics to prioritize accounts and streamline appeals. As a result, West Tennessee Healthcare improved its bad debt-to-charity ratio from 3:1 to 1:1, reduced third-party AR over 120 days by 3.3%, and saw billed AR at Jackson-Madison drop by $34.9 million in four months, with daily denial triage boosting overturn rates.
