Case Study: Baptist Health System achieves seamless Epic conversion and a 7-day AR reduction with MedeAnalytics

A MedeAnalytics Case Study

Preview of the Baptist Health System Case Study

Baptist Health System Seamlessly Converts to Epic with MedeAnalytics

Baptist Health System, one of Alabama’s largest health systems with four hospital campuses, needed to convert to Epic while maintaining self-service analytics, aggregating data for population health, managing month‑end reserves, tracking self‑pay/POS collections, and reducing AR days. Facing credibility issues with canned, IT‑dependent reporting and no predictive analytics, the system relied on MedeAnalytics Business Office to preserve analytic access and ensure data integrity during the Epic transition.

MedeAnalytics delivered self‑service and predictive analytics that complemented Epic, reduced the IT reporting burden, and enabled rapid root‑cause analysis across nearly 100 regular users. As a result, Baptist restored confidence in its data, returned to normal cash flow within 60 days of go‑live, reduced net AR days from 47.1 to 40.1, identified and fixed a self‑pay insurance capture gap before timely‑filing limits, and won the HFMA MAP Award for revenue cycle performance four years running.
