Medable’s Patient Caregiver Network improves post-seizure trial data

Large Pharmaceutical Company was experiencing inconsistent timing and low availability of seizure-diary entries in a rare-disease trial and wanted to know when and how to prompt patients and caregivers to improve data quality. Medable was engaged to help, bringing in its Patient Caregiver Network (PCN) to inform a more human, caregiver-friendly approach to post-seizure data collection.

Medable used its PCN to gather insights from affected families, identifying that roughly one hour after a seizure was the best time to prompt diary completion and recommending a friendly reminder at that interval. The client modified the protocol to include a one-hour post-seizure notification; Medable reports increased caregiver engagement and participation, a dramatic increase in timely data entry during the targeted window, and more comprehensive, accurate seizure-diary data, with the protocol changes adopted for future studies.
