The Warren Group - Customer Case Study

The Warren Group, a designer and manufacturer of prototype and production packaging, relies on MecSoft Corporation's VisualCAM for SOLIDWORKS. Their challenge was to efficiently program the toolpaths needed to drive their CNC machining centers for a variety of materials and complex packaging designs, including corrugated displays and thermoformed packaging molds.

The solution was implementing VisualCAM for SOLIDWORKS, which provided fully integrated CAM programming. MecSoft's software enabled the creation of custom knowledge bases and tool libraries, which captured specific CNC manufacturing knowledge to accelerate the process from design to production. This allowed for efficient generation of toolpaths for both 2D and complex 3D machining, resulting in cleaner cuts on materials like acrylic and PVC and significantly reduced machining times, such as a 38-minute roughing operation and 27 minutes of finishing for a key mold.
