RhinoCAM Helps Prepare Future Shipbuilders at IYRS School of Technology & Trades in Newport, RI!

The IYRS School of Technology & Trades, a marine trade school in Rhode Island, needed to teach its students modern digital fabrication techniques for the composites and shipbuilding industries. To achieve this, they implemented MecSoft Corporation's RhinoCAM software into their Composites Technology curriculum to enable the design and CNC machining of molds for complex composite parts.

Using RhinoCAM, students successfully machined molds on a 3-axis CNC router to produce high-quality composite items like a bicycle helmet and a marine steering wheel. The solution from MecSoft provided powerful, surface-based CAM programming that was directly relevant to the marine industry, supported by extensive online resources and technical support that were vital for the educational environment.
