MK Fabrication, a growing fabrication shop that works on projects from heavy mining equipment to custom tooling, sought to efficiently machine a complex part featuring five identical sets of prismatic and sloped features. The challenge was to program the CNC machining for this part accurately without having to manually duplicate the toolpaths for each identical feature set. They turned to MecSoft Corporation and utilized the RhinoCAM software to find a solution.

The solution implemented by MecSoft involved using RhinoCAM's XY Instance operation. This powerful feature allowed MK Fabrication's programmers to create the toolpath operations for a single set of features and then automatically generate four identical copies, spaced 15.00 inches apart. The part was successfully machined using a combination of 2.5-axis and advanced 3-axis toolpaths. This streamlined programming process saved significant time and ensured accuracy across all five feature sets, demonstrating the efficient and powerful capabilities of the MecSoft software.
