Lane Manufacturing, a company specializing in irrigation gaskets and custom injection molds, sought a cost-effective CAM solution to program their CNC machining centers for producing intricate mold cavities. The complexity of machining undercut quad-ring seal cavities with a very small, precise tool required a powerful yet affordable software to generate the extensive and accurate toolpaths needed.

MecSoft Corporation provided its VisualCAD/CAM Standard software as the solution. The software successfully generated a complex machining job consisting of over 60 precise profiling operations, which was necessary due to the tool's small size. This allowed Lane Manufacturing to efficiently machine the complex cavity inserts in-house, enabling them to turn around production molds in days instead of weeks. The case study highlights the precision of MecSoft's software, which operated with an internal precision of 14 decimal places to meet the job's tight tolerances.
