David Trubridge Ltd, a New Zealand-based design studio known for elegant lighting and furniture, faced a challenge scaling production of their intricate designs. Initially outsourcing CNC machining, the company needed to bring this process in-house to better control the fabrication of their unique products crafted from demanding materials like bamboo plywood and aluminum. To solve this, they partnered with MecSoft Corporation.

Implementing MecSoft's VisualMILL CAM software, the vendor's solution enabled direct control over their CNC routers from design files created in Rhino. This allowed David Trubridge Ltd to overcome material challenges, significantly increasing production efficiency. A measurable result was the ability to machine 24mm of material per run with an 8mm cutter, exceeding standard recommendations and allowing them to produce up to 22 light sets from a single CNC run for their Coral 600 design.
