The customer, Bill Bancroft Furniture, a custom furniture design and fabrication shop, utilized RhinoCAM from vendor MecSoft Corporation for their CNC machining needs. The challenge was to efficiently and accurately translate complex furniture designs from digital models into machined parts, a process that was also being taught to an intern. The goal was to find a CAM solution that was powerful yet manageable for both an experienced professional and a student to use effectively.

MecSoft Corporation's RhinoCAM provided the integrated and intuitive solution. The software's ability to save toolpaths directly within the Rhino CAD file and reuse toolpath knowledge saved significant time. For a specific project, intern Emma Schmidt successfully used various RhinoCAM toolpaths, including 2.5 Axis and 3 Axis operations, to design and manufacture a complete piece of furniture. The result was a highly complex and unique design being accurately cut with minimal hassle, demonstrating the software's capability for both education and professional production and ensuring confidence in its use for future projects.
